History
A common misconseption about TNT is that it is in dynamite, when however, it is not an ingreadient in dynamite at all. TNT was first synthesised in 1863 by a man called Jsheph Wilbrand to dye clothes yellow. The potential for being an explosive was not really discovered untill later due to it's diffuculty to detonate. TNT was first used commonly as an explosive in WWI by german artillery. It was then used widely in WWII.
One of the great things about TNT is that one can melt it down to fit into a shell withought detonation. As a matter of fact, this was how the vietnamiese made mines out of old US artilery shells. However, within the next ten years it is predicted that a compound named IMX-101 may compleatley replace TNT.
